Selecting a Puppy

We work with the puppies every day as they grow and develop their individual personalities. We begin studying, and taking notes, of each puppy starting at 5 weeks old.

At 7 weeks, we perform extensive testing. We test for confidence, shyness, drive level (energy level), dominance, and prey drive. Each puppy is unique and therefore scores differently. This means that while one may have a high prey drive (instinct to chase, hunt, etc.), others may only show moderate interest.

Confident, but not dominant, puppies are great candidates as service dogs, family pets, or companions. Dogs with higher levels of drive, prey drive, and dominance, need a working home—whether working in personal protection, cart-pulling, herding, etc.

We work hard to fit you with a puppy that meets your needs and best fits with you and your family.
